A CFO is part of the team that determines the strategy and is either responsible in front of the Board members or even part of it. The main duties include managing the cash flows and the risks, but due to rapid changes in the business environment the role is growing more and more. This is a senior position, usually accessible after at least a decade of experience. As a CFO you are expected to be an accomplished accountant or financial analyst who can see the problems and financial health of a company just by looking at the balance. CFOs that are aware of the advantage given by data will incorporate this into their daily routine and use the results to build models and introduce variability in the structure of revenue and costs. They don’t need to perform the computations or design the algorithms, but must understand the implications of the result provided by data scientists.
