Be sure to include the following

- Phone number
- Is your cover letter an appropriate length (less then 1 page)?

- Did you address your letter to the hiring managers name? Do not use “To Whom in may concern” If you are not sure the hiring name use “Dear Hiring Manager”
- Did you address the position you are applying for in the first line?
- Were you precise and specific about your qualifications and goals for your career?
- Did you have captivating statements that would attract your hiring manager quickly?
- Did you use strong action verbs and avoid contractions (e.g didn’t,don’t,weren’t)
- Did I proof read my cover letter?
- Is the cover letter suited for my hiring manager? Show that you have done your research here.
- Do you prove you are experienced in your field?
- Did you mention why you would be a good hire?
- Did you close your letter with your next steps? For example, “I will follow up with you in one week”
